5-Star DE Prospect K.J. Henry in the rain before the Georgia Tech Game
The Tigers defeated the Yellow Jackets in less than inviting
conditions last Saturday night in the confines of Death Valley. CUTigers Contributor

5-star defensive end K.J. Henry, in his rain gear, on his official visit to
Clemson.

****New Offer out to Grayson Star
Clemson
reached into Grayson High School in metro Atlanta and offered 2019 defensive end
Kevin Harris. Grayson is a school that Clemson knows very well, as Dabo’s old
roommate and current Safeties Coach Mickey Conn is the former head man at Grayson.
In addition, corner back Ryan Carter, Wayne Gallman and Nick Shuessler are all
Grayson alums.
Stay tuned
as we monitor Harris and this offer. The Tigers are shoring up the 2019 offers
and will soon be out on the recruiting trails in late November to check in with
these newly offered prospects.

****IMG Crew Visits Clemson
Clemson Commits Xavier Thomas and Mike Jones, Jr. with their IMG teammate, RB Noah Cain.
Clemson
already has two committed prospects inside the 2018 class with the likes of
defensive end Xavier Thomas, arguably the nation’s top prospect overall, and
one of the top linebackers in Mike Jones, Jr. Both players have an affinity for
making the trip north from Bradenton, FL as much as they can to take in the
Tigers in the Valley on home game weekends in Clemson.
And they often come bearing IMG teammates. For the Auburn game earlier this year, they brought with them a couple IMG stars in Nolan Smith and Brendan “Bookie” Radley-Hiles.
2019 DE Nolan Smith and IMG teammate Mike Jones, Jr. at the Auburn
game earlier this season.
For the Tigers’ matchup against Georgia Tech last weekend, the boys
from Bradenton brought with them the nation’s premier running back in the 2019
class, Noah Cain, and IMG’s punter, Aidan Swanson—a player to watch moving forward. We had the chance to speak with all four IMG
stars since their visit, and here is what they had to say!
2018 Clemson DE Commit Xavier Thomas:
CU: Xavier, tell us about the trip and what it was like to be back
in Clemson.
XT: Just another great trip
back home. Always feels good to experience game day in Death Valley. It was
pouring rain and still packed with 80,000. Nothing gets better than Clemson.
It’s everything you look for in a visit.
CU: What have you heard from
Cade Mays and the other recruits you spoken with over the weekend?
XT: Recruiting Cade and K.J.
has been going great! Mike and I are very confident about them both! They
really enjoyed their visit.
Clemson 2018 LB Commit Mike Jones, Jr.:
CU: How did you and the IMG
guys like the trip? Specifically, what did Aidan and Noah have to say about
their experience in Clemson this weekend?
MJ: Like usual, everybody
had a great time. Aidan and his family are big-time Clemson fans, so they
really enjoyed it. And Noah also said he had a really great time and plans on
coming back in January.
CU: Your former teammate
Cade was also in town. Did this visit seem to give Cade a reason to consider
Clemson?
MJ: I feel like the visit
really put us on the map with Cade. Personally, I wouldn’t bet against me when
it comes to recruiting my friends. I think we get him.
CU: You and Xavier are
regular fixtures on the Clemson sideline these days. Tell us how it feels to
come to Clemson and just how comfortable are you guys when you are in town.
MJ: It’s been great to be
able to build relationships with all the staff and players and other commits
throughout all our visits, and when we go it really feels more and more like
home. It continues to get better every time we come.
CU: With K.J. Henry and Cade
and others in attendance, what do you and your fellow commits tell those guys
that they have not heard at every other school on visits like these?
MJ: My main thing I tell these guys is that no other team or school has the same character or atmosphere as Clemson. From football to the people, Clemson is very genuine. I also talked about how not too many schools have fans that will stand out in the rain 4 whole quarters on a cold October night, and how that just meshed with Clemson’s image. Great people are always surrounding and supporting you.
2019 IMG RB Prospect Noah Cain:
CU: Noah, how was your first trip up for a game at Clemson?
NC: My first trip was good.
I love how their fan base stayed at the game during the cold rain.
CU: What coaches did you
talk to during your visit and what does the Clemson offer mean in your
recruitment?
NC: I spoke with Coach Elliott,
Streeter and Swinney. The Clemson offer means a lot in my recruitment this
early because they’re slower to offer a lot of guys.
CU: What stuck out most to
you about the visit?
NC: The fan base stood the whole game and cheered as loud as they
could...that was impressive.
CU: What is your next trip, and
are you planning to come back to Clemson anytime soon?
NC: I don’t have a trip
scheduled yet to go back, but I know it’ll be either next January or February.
CU: What is one thing you saw about Clemson this weekend that makes
it different?
NC: The way the coaches go
about things and the family atmosphere of the team makes it different.
2019 IMG Punter Prospect Aidan Swanson:
CU: Aidan can you tell the
folks here that follow the Tigers on CUTigers.com, how was the visit? What did the coaches tell you. Any
plans on a return visit? What did you
leave the game thinking in regards to your visit and Clemson?
AS: The visit was hands down
the best experience I’ve had. That was the first game I’ve been to since I was
7, and nothing has changed with the fans and how loud and packed the stadium
gets.
CU: What did the coaches
tell you?
AS: A lot of coaches came up
to me during the game that I did not know beforehand, and it was impressive
that all the coaches knew my name. Some told me, “Oh, you’re a big-time recruit,
and we would love to have you here” and all that stuff.
CU: We saw you hanging out
with Clemson kicker commit BT Potter. What were you guys talking about?
AS: BT and I were talking
about how it would be awesome if I could join him at Clemson and be a great
special teams duo. And how much we both love Clemson.
CU: Any plans on a return
visit?
AS: I am coming back for The
Citadel game in a few weeks.
CU: What did you leave the
game thinking with regard to your visit and Clemson?
AS: I left thinking that this is where I want to go. not only just to play football but be a part of this university and the culture. The fan base is unreal, and it is amazing how much support there is. Also, shout-out to Andy Teasdall for being a mentor of mine so far on my visits to Clemson. A great guy.
Absolutely unreal and incredible visit at Clemson tonight! What a great experience! Looking forward to what the future holds... pic.twitter.com/2agrrjPEwW

****Spector Makes it “All In” the Family
Clemson received its second commitment for the 2019 class, as Georgia native and Clemson legacy Brannon Spector will join his linebacker brother, Baylon, on the Clemson roster in the coming years. Spector took the time to give us his quick thoughts on the commitment—one he made in person to Coach Dabo Swinney prior to the Georgia Tech contest in Clemson.
“It means a lot to me,” Brannon said, “It is truly is a blessing to have this opportunity. Having a chance to go to school with my siblings again is awesome, and especially getting to play with my brother again!”
The 6’1
and 185-pound 3-star junior plays safety and wide receiver for Calhoun High and
joins 4-star safety Joseph Charleston on the Tigers’ 2019 commit list. Stay

****Nation’s Top 2019 OLB Names Final 3
Owen
Pappoe, the top outside linebacker for 2019 and a target we have been following
since 2015, has trimmed a list of offers from over two dozen down to three. The
Grayson High star lists Defending National Champion Clemson as one of his final
three, along with Nebraska and in-state Georgia. Florida State is surprisingly
absent from the list. The Seminoles were a longtime leader for Owen’s services
but after a dismal 2017 season find themselves out of the picture for one of
the top players in the 2019 class, regardless of position.
Former
Grayson High School Head Coach and current Clemson Safeties Coach Mickey Conn,
along with Brent Venables, have their eyes on the top player in Georgia for
2019. Stay tuned right here at CUTigers.com and the Recruiting Radar for all your Clemson updates in
