The Tigers trailed at halftime for the third time this season, and it was a tight, back-and-forth second half, but Simms had perhaps his best game of the season. He scored 25 points, including the game-winner with 19 seconds left as the Tigers held on to beat the Canes 66-65 in Miami. Simms was the only Tiger to score in double digits. The Canes had one last good chance for the win after the go-ahead basket by Simms, but Orlando native Nick Honor stripped the ball, sending it out of bounds at the far end of the court. The Canes' Hail Mary attempt came up short, and the Tigers improved to 8-1 on the season. After this win and knocking off No.18 FSU last week, the Tigers will certainly jump back into the rankings for the second time this season. They have beaten the defending ACC Champ by 10 and the defending Big Ten Champ by 16 in addition to an 11-point neutral site win over Purdue.
