DAWES CONTINUES HOT SHOOTING, CLEMSON BEATS PITT 77-62 ON SENIOR DAY

CLEMSON, SC - It was Senior Day in Littlejohn, and the Tigers' 3 seniors--Simms, Trapp and Baehre--got off to a great start, all scoring in the first few minutes of the game. In fact, Simms fittingly drilled a 3 on the very first possession of the game! Dawes continued his shot shooting for the 3rd straight game, going 7-10 from the field and 5-8 from 3 for 21 points! Tyson added 16, including some big minutes when Simms was on the bench with 3 fouls in the 2nd half. The Tigers were 12-25 from beyond the arc!
Pitt was 9-18 from beyond the arc, but the Tigers did an excellent job containing Champagnie, holding him to just 13 points.
The Tigers finish the regular season 16-6 and 10-6 in the ACC. With the league as wide-open as it is, the Tigers could make a serious run in Greensboro, and who knows, maybe bring home the program's first-ever ACC Tournament Title. Remember, they beat No.1 seed FSU by double digits! The Tigers will likely be a 5 seed in the ACC Tournament, unfortunately, narrowly missing a double bye, and will begin play on Wednesday. I'll have the bracket and schedule for you as soon as they are available.
