CLEMSON, SC - The Tigers just couldn't find the offense on Saturday after scoring 13 runs with 4 homers on Friday night! They should have saved a few of those runs for Saturday. The Tigers hit several line drives for outs today, but that's the way it goes sometimes in baseball. The difference in the game was a 2-out, 2-run HR by Notre Dame in the 1st inning off of Olenchuk. The Tigers would make it 2-1 in the 4th thanks to a leadoff double by Parker, who had 2 of the Tigers' 4 hits, but the Irish added an insurance run the very next inning on a single and a double off of reliever Mat Clark.
Pitching wasn't great, but it was certainly good enough to win. Hopefully, the Tigers will start hitting it where they ain't again on Sunday. After going 4-5 on Friday in his debut at left field, Meredith was just 1-4 in the DH spot. He was 1-3 as DH on Tuesday, so I expect to see him back in the outfield on Sunday. Rubber match is at noon with Carter Raffield making his second start. He won his first on Tuesday against ETSU.
