TUSCALOOSA, AL - With the game tied 1-1 in the 7th, John Rittman made the clutch decision to pinch-hit freshman Morgan Johnson to lead off the inning, and the big fan favorite came through with a double that sparked the Tigers' offense. McKenzie Clark drove her in to put the Tigers ahead, and graduate Ansley Gilstrap followed with her 2nd RBI infield single of the game to make it 3-1. Logoleo would add one more with a 2-out single to give Valerie Cagle a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th. Troy wouldn't give up, though. They would lead off with a pair of singles and get 2nd and 3rd with no outs, but Cagle allowed just one run for the 4-2 win.
The Tigers will get a rematch with juggernaut Alabama, the SEC Champ which has won an NCAA-record 42 straight regional games since 2007. Bama's two ace pitchers are relatively rested compared to the Tigers too, so it will be an uphill battle! The two top-10 teams will meet at 2:00 ET on ESPN2, and if the Tigers win, the winner-take-all game will begin immediately after.
